What are the benefits?
|
| There are plenty, but
basically Yoga tones the muscles, strengthens and invigorates the
whole system of the body and relaxes the mind and body. |
| |
|
Do I need any special equipment?
|
| It’s best to have
your own mat, but I have some spare ones.
Also Yoga blocks and a belt are very useful but you can get
them later. Also
it’s nice to have a blanket to help with some postures and for
relaxation. Clothing
should be loose or stretchy so you’re not restricted. |
| |
|
I’m a beginner – can I join in?
|
| Yoga is not
competitive, postures can be moderated for you and you can have
extra time to rest. You
must listen to your body and not overdo it as with any new
exercise regime. |
| |
|
Why can’t I just do it at home from a
video or book?
|
| Until you are familiar
with the postures you can’t be sure you are doing them
correctly. In class
you will be given help and guidance. |
| |
|
Can I eat before the class?
|
| Leave an hour after a
light snack, 4 hours after a heavy meal. |
| |
|
Is it a mixed class? |
|
Yes
men and women of all ages are welcome.
|
| |
|
Can I do it if I have any health or joint
problems?
|
| I will give you a
questionnaire so that I’ll be aware of any problems so postures
can be adjusted accordingly. You
should consult your doctor first and not do anything that causes
you pain. |
